Meredith Foundation welcomes newest member
Demethrius Boyd has been appointed to replace Jerry Phillips on the board of directors of the Meredith Foundation in Mineola.
Phillips served from July 1, 2010 to Feb. 22, 2022. Board members are appointed by the district judge.
Boyd is the pastor of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church at 304 Stone St. in Mineola. He has been the senior pastor for 15 years. He and his wife of 31 years, Kathy, have two sons, Trey, 29, and Kendal, 28. He holds degrees and certifications in business, theology, Bible, christian counseling and quality engineering.
Boyd has been instrumental in growing the community in faith, service and unity. His tireless efforts in bridging the gaps in religious, cultural and racial divides has been a benefit to all of Wood County. He has served on countless city, community and civic organizations such as the Parks and Open Spaces Board, Planning and Zoning Commission, Chamber of Commerce, Grace Community Healthcare, Addie McFarland Foundation, Mineola Community Bank board and Mineola ISD Advisory Group. He has been the recipient of Mineola’s B.R. Short Community Builders Award, Mineola’s Man of the Year Award, Masonic Lodge Humanitarian Award and several others.
His plans are to continue to serve the church and community until he can’t anymore and to continue to reside in the Mineola area after retirement.
