MHS honors fall sports athletes
At a recognition ceremony last Friday, Mineola High School acknowledged the student-athletes who participated in the fall sports programs this academic year. Head coaches introduced the cheer, cross country, volleyball and football participants and recognized individuals for exemplary performance and leadership.
Athletic Director Luke Blackwell credited the kids with sustaining the incredible run of success realized by Mineola athletics.
“They do the best they can, every day, and are willing to do what we ask them to do. It’s all about the quality of our student-athletes,” he explained.
Blackwell also acknowledged the efforts of the entire coaching staff as well, “We have the best coaching staff in the state – I really believe that. Each coach has a genuine care for and love of these kids and a love for what they do. We wake up excited to come here and work with these kids.”
The trophy case became a little more crowded due to the efforts of many athletes and coaches this fall at Mineola High School. The school is establishing a reputation for competitive excellence in many areas, especially athletics.
