Mineola administrator contracts extended
The administrative staff at Mineola ISD has contracts for another year.
The school board voted unanimously Monday to extend the contracts of the district leadership team by one year.

Mineola administrator contracts extended
The administrative staff at Mineola ISD has contracts for another year.
The school board voted unanimously Monday to extend the contracts of the district leadership team by one year.
They include Assistant Superintendent David Sauer, business manager William Bjork, Curriculum Director Jennifer Knipp, High School Principal Mike Sorenson, Middle School Principal Kendall Gould, Elementary Principal Brittany Thompson, Primary School Principal Jole Ray, Athletic Director Luke Blackwell and Fine Arts Director Chris Brannan.
Students of the month honored included 2nd graders Parker Abercrombie and Elia Hernandez Marquez at the primary school, 4th graders Carolina Torres and Aaron Patricio at elementary school, 7th graders Chance Williams and Kenzi Brooks at middle school and seniors Antonio Ventura and Valerie Garcia at high school.
The support staff of the month was the counselors.
They include Rachael Wernecke and Melisia Foster at the high school, Michelle Dudley at middle school, Carrie Gonzalez at elementary school and Donna Palmer at primary.
The teacher of the month, Paige Clark at the primary school, is also Kiwanis Club teacher of the year. She has served as the virtual teacher.
The all-state band students from high school were also recognized, Gabby Wolf on trombone, Emily Phonsnasinh on clarinet, Ali Gonzalez on oboe and Ali Jordan on trumpet.
Superintendent Cody Mize announced that the work to clear cut timber on district land off Loop 564 has begun and will take 3-4 weeks.
