Mineola band hosting marching festival
The Mineola Sound of the Swarm marching band will host its 7th annual marching festival Monday, Oct. 9.
Some 23 bands are expected for the day-long event at Meredith Memorial Stadium.
Last weekend the band swept all 3A class awards at the Sunnyvale festival:
- Best in Class Color Guard
- Best in Class Percussion
- Best in Class Drum Majors
- Best in Class Winds
- Best in Class 3A Band
The Swarm was the only 3A band to advance to finals and placed third over all, behind two Class 4A bands.
