Mineola HS one-act play advances to area round

The Mineola High School one-act play “The Book of Everything” is moving on to the area contest with its successful performance in bidistrict Friday.

Area competition is April 2 at Longview High School.

Individual medalists are Audri Dunwoody - All-Star Cast, Ben Spofford - Best Performer, Amedea D’Angelo - Honorable Mention All-Star Cast and Jett Vaughn - Outstanding Tech.

The troupe plans a public performance Thursday at 7 p.m. at the high school.

Admission is $5 at the door. Proceeds support the UIL OAP Scholarship.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
