Mineola Lady Jackets fall in first round playoff
Mineola’s run in the Class 3A Division One volleyball playoffs was short-lived.
The Lady Jackets suffered a three-game sweep at the hands of the fourth-ranked team in the state, the Tatum High School Eagles.
Mineola had its best set to open the match at Tyler Junior College, 25-20, but their scoring ability went down from there, with 15 points in the second game and 11 in the third.
Tatum goes on to face Hooks, a 3-2 winner over Hughes Springs.
The other district team in the bracket, Eustace, swept White Oak in a close match.
