Mineola Library Notes
I think winter may have finally arrived, or at least put in an appearance. Need something to read while the weather is wintry? Stop by the Mineola Memorial Library and pick up a book or two. Don’t know what to read? Check out our displays with various themes or reading challenges.
The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) suggested we post more on Facebook about what is in the library. That got me to thinking that maybe I should also write about things in the library other than our weekly Toddler Story Time, which is on Tuesday mornings at 9 a.m. for caregivers and children aged 18 months to 3 years, or our preschool program, which is on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. and is for children aged 3 to 5 with their caregiver.
Maybe I should remind you that we subscribe to four newspapers: the Dallas Morning News, the Wall Street Journal, the Tyler Morning Telegraph, and, of course, the Wood County Monitor. You can actually hold these newspapers in your hand and read them in the library. We also subscribe to many magazines for your enjoyment.
January marks the birthday of Diana Gabaldon, author of the Outlander series. We have all of her books and many of the audios of the books. Don’t know what Outlander is all about? Stop in and ask Mrs. Pam to tell you about it.
It is tax season. As a courtesy, we will have basic forms if you would like to work through them on paper. The forms are free, but the instruction books are twenty cents per page, as they are rather lengthy. You will need to consult a tax preparer/professional for questions about taxes; our staff can help you navigate to the IRS website, but we are not tax professionals.
Remember, the Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3 non-profit, and your donations may be tax deductible.
