What a flurry of activity we had to start off February. We had Read to a Dog, with so many children interacting with our canine friends from Alliance of Therapy Pets; we had two groups using the library for meetings; East Texas Perfictionists Book Club met that afternoon; and we had the Book Sale in the alley. This is not to mention that Saturday, Feb. 7 was also Take Your Child to the Library Day.

This past weekend, we had the American Girls Historical Reading Club meeting to learn about what adventures Rebecca (1914) and Claudie (1922) might have had. Book Club for March is already full. Just before the rain, we hosted Toddler 2 x 2, which is once a month for those who cannot make Toddler Story Time during the week.

We continue to offer fine forgiveness in exchange for pet food donations, which will be shared between the Mineola Animal Shelter and APET. Have you taken care of your fine yet? Have you maybe even thought of paying it forward with a food donation to waive someone else’s fines? There’s still time; we are collecting through 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28.

This week, we continue to host Toddler Story Time on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. and Preschool Story Time on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. Homeschool Heroes will meet for the second time this month on Friday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21 will bring the East Texas Library Friends Book Club to the library to discuss their current book and to select books for the next three meetings. Feel free to join us at 2 p.m.

Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3 non-profit. Your donation may be tax-deductible.
