Mineola Memorial Library Notes

We want to thank the Meredith Foundation for the grant to the library for 2023. It is because of the Meredith Foundation our library is able to provide many things for the community.

Coming up on Saturday, March 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. is the Library Open House as part of the Mineola Sesquicentennial and celebrating 63 years at 301 N. Pacific. Jeff D. Hurley will present a short program on the history of the Mineola Memorial Library. There will be refreshments and displays throughout the library. We hope you have the opportunity to stop by and visit.

There’s a new database for helping children age 3-6 on their learning adventure. It is Miss Humblebee’s Academy. A parent/caregiver sets up the account and adds their children as students. There are assessments to see where to begin and learning is divided into art/music, fitness, language/literacy, library, math, science/social studies, and social/emotional learning. You can enter as a guest and explore or create your own free account. To get there, find the TexShare Database on our catalog page, click Resources A to Z, click the letter M, and scroll down to Miss Humblebee’s Academy.

We continue to offer Toddler Story Time on Tuesday mornings at 9 a.m., PreSchool Story Time on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. and American Girl Historical Reading Club on the second Saturday of the month. We just wrapped up our First Tuesday of the month offerings with Book It Crafts on the first Tuesday at 2 p.m. and the First Tuesday After School Club at 4 p.m..

If you think of a program, material or something you would like to have the library offer, please, let us know. It helps us to know community interests. We cannot accommodate every request but we will try.

Remember, the Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non-profit and your donations may be tax-deductible.
