Mineola Police Report
July 4
11:45 a.m., suspicious person, N. Newsom St., caller reported a female at a neighboring apartment whose resident was in the hospital. The caller had been instructed to contact police if the female returned. Officers determined the woman had a key and permission to be at the residence. The incident was determined to be a civil matter.
12:01 p.m., theft, NE Loop 564, caller reported leaving cash at a register and accused the cashier of taking it. An incident report was filed.
2:17 p.m., assist other agency, Freeman St., caller reported an electric pole on fire. Fire personnel and SWEPCO responded to the scene.
5:30 p.m., reckless driver, N. Pacific St. and City Limits, caller reported a white semi unable to maintain its lane of travel. The vehicle was being followed by an EMS unit. Officers were unable to locate.
6:31 p.m., motorist assist, 1100 block N. Newsom St., officers placed barricades at the location.
7:16 p.m., welfare concern, Mimosa St., caller reported his girlfriend was being held against her will by her mother. Officers determined the woman was free to leave at any time if she chose. Everything was okay.
7:45 p.m., motor vehicle accident, N. Pacific St., caller reported her maroon Dodge was struck by a silver Volvo. The other driver reportedly did not have insurance. Information was exchanged.
8:12 p.m., city ordinance violation, 100 Kings Lane, caller reported fireworks being discharged. Residents were warned not to set off fireworks.
8:50 p.m., trespassing, N. Newsom St., caller reported someone near the dumpsters. Officers determined the individual was not dumpster diving.
8:53 p.m., city ordinance violation, Ivey and Wigley streets, caller reported fireworks in the area. Officers were unable to locate.
8:57 p.m., city ordinance violation, 400 block Molly St., caller reported fireworks being discharged. Officers were unable to locate.
9:07 p.m., city ordinance violation, Meadowbrook and Ivey streets, caller reported fireworks. Officers determined the fireworks were coming from a residence outside the city limits.
9:17 p.m., city ordinance violation, 800 block Grand St., caller reported fireworks. Officers were unable to locate.
9:36 p.m., intoxicated person, N. Pacific St., caller reported an intoxicated male sitting in a Chevy pickup. Officers determined the subject had a designated driver, and no offense had occurred.
9:50 p.m., city ordinance violation, Graham St., caller reported fireworks being discharged. A citation was issued.
10:01 p.m., city ordinance violation, Landers St., caller reported fireworks in the area. A warning was issued.
10:56 p.m., city ordinance violation, E. Broad St., caller reported juveniles shooting fireworks toward passing vehicles. Residents were advised fireworks are prohibited within the city.
11:11 p.m., disturbance, NE Loop 564, caller reported a vehicle doing donuts in a parking lot. The vehicle left before officers arrived.
11:31 p.m., city ordinance violation, 1500 block Jan St., caller reported fireworks being discharged in the area. Officers were unable to locate.
July 5
12:19 a.m., suspicious person, N. Newsom St., officers contacted an individual at the dumpsters. The subject climbed out of the dumpster, and the incident was documented for follow-up investigation.
1:31 a.m., city ordinance violation, 1700 block N. Pacific St., caller reported fireworks being discharged near an apartment complex. Dispatch received multiple calls reporting the same location. Officers located the source and issued a citation.
2:05 a.m., assist other agency, Bromberg St., caller reported a male experiencing chest pain and difficulty breathing. EMS responded, and officers assisted on scene.
4:17 a.m., public assist, 900 block N. Pacific St., caller reported tree branches blocking the roadway. Officers cleared the roadway.
5:01 a.m., public assist, 300 W. Patten St., caller reported debris in the roadway. Officers cleared the roadway.
5:07 a.m., suspicious person, N. Pacific St., caller reported a person sitting on the curb in front of a business. Officers learned the woman was waiting for an Uber after her phone died and had plugged it into an exterior outlet to charge. No further action was taken.
9:52 a.m., found property, 700 Greenville Ave., caller reported finding a black bi-fold wallet containing a military identification card. The owner later claimed the property.
3:35 p.m., public assist, 200 Read St., caller reported debris in the roadway. Officers cleared the roadway.
3:50 p.m., traffic stop/arrest, 100 block E. Blair St., a traffic stop resulted in the arrests of Jose Adam Contreras and Duston Everett Holloway. Both were transported to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
5:19 p.m., suspicious person, N. Johnson St., caller reported returning home to find the back door open. Officers found no signs of forced entry, and everything was secure.
6:08 p.m., public assist, 300 Greenville Ave., caller requested information regarding a vehicle that had been struck the previous week. Officers answered the caller’s questions.
8:25 p.m., assist other agency, E. Broadway and City Limits, officers assisted in searching for a red Ford Fusion. The vehicle was not located.
10:17 p.m., suspicious person, 600 block N. Newsom St., caller reported a shirtless man carrying a knife while yelling at passing vehicles. Officers contacted the man and instructed him to keep the knife in his pocket. No further action was taken.
July 6
5:45 a.m., motor vehicle accident, 1400 W. Broad St., caller reported striking a trailer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. A crash report was completed.
7:08 a.m., information only, E. Broad St., caller reported a disabled vehicle and advised it would be removed within an hour for repairs.
9:25 a.m., assist EMS, Greenville Ave., officers assisted EMS with a combative patient. The patient refused transport.
10:04 a.m., assist EMS, N. Pacific St., officers assisted EMS with a combative patient. EMS staged until officers arrived. The patient refused transport and was determined to be in a competent state of mind.
10:10 a.m., civil matter, NE Loop 564, caller requested surveillance video of a parking lot accident that occurred several days earlier. Because the parties had exchanged insurance information and did not request an officer at the time of the accident, the caller was referred to Justice of the Peace Precinct 2.
1:01 p.m., hit-and-run accident, NE Loop 564, caller reported a hit-and-run collision. A case report was filed.
1:43 p.m., assist other agency, 3500 block Woodbine Tyler Rd., caller reported a person passed out. EMS and Tyler Fire responded, and the patient was left in their care.
2:39 p.m., reckless driver, N. Pacific St. and E. Broad St., caller reported a white panel van unable to maintain a single lane of travel and passing vehicles from a turn lane. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
3:42 p.m., assist other agency, N. Pacific St., caller reported the smell of smoke inside a lobby. Fire personnel assumed control of the scene.
3:56 p.m., assist other agency, Greenville Ave., officers assisted EMS with a patient requesting transport to UT Health North. The patient was transported.
4:52 p.m., civil matter, 300 Greenville Ave., caller requested information regarding a civil issue. Questions were answered.
5:34 p.m., assist other agency, E. Hwy. 80, EMS requested assistance from the fire department. Fire personnel responded, and officers assisted at the scene.
5:45 p.m., traffic stop/arrest, Sycamore and Dubose streets, a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Chasity Taylor.
8:51 p.m., theft, Belcher St., caller requested to file a theft report. A case report was completed.
July 7
12:43 a.m., drug offense, Sycamore and Dubose streets, officers filed a possession of a controlled substance charge related to the earlier traffic stop.
6:44 a.m., civil matter, 802 Wigley St., caller reported a neighbor intentionally turned on sprinklers while she walked her dogs and provided video of the incident. Officers documented the complaint.
7:19 a.m., assist other agency, CR 2430 and CR 2425, the Wood County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance locating a possible vehicle involved in a crash after receiving a 911 cellphone ping. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
10:07 a.m., theft, W. Broad St., caller reported a battery-powered impact driver had been stolen. The reported suspect was determined not to be involved after officers contacted juvenile probation officials.
10:26 a.m., disturbance, Landers St., officers responded to a landlord-tenant dispute. The landlord reported the tenant refused to allow him to post an eviction notice and had threatened to shoot him if he entered the property. The parties separated, and the incident remained verbal.
11:31 a.m., civil matter, Lee Drive, caller requested additional information regarding a fence dispute. No criminal offense had occurred, and the caller was referred to Justice of the Peace Precinct 2.
2:02 p.m., welfare concern, Lakeside Place, caller requested a welfare check on a friend she had been unable to contact for about a month. Officers contacted the woman’s daughter, who advised she was okay. The caller was notified.
2:37 p.m., assist other agency, Boundary St., officers assisted the Wood County Sheriff’s Office in locating and detaining a subject wanted for a court violation. Clayton Horton was located and arrested for walking on the wrong side of the roadway.
6:11 p.m., criminal trespass warning request, NE Loop 564, caller requested a criminal trespass warning be issued to individuals at the location. The subjects left before officers arrived. The caller was advised to contact police if they returned.
6:38 p.m., reckless driver, S. Pacific St. and City Limits, caller reported a gray Toyota sedan unable to maintain its lane and traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers determined it was not the vehicle they were seeking. The vehicle continued toward Quitman, where area agencies were notified.
7:09 p.m., public assist, 300 Greenville Ave., caller requested to speak with the on-duty supervisor. An officer responded.
9:40 p.m., assist other agency, 4472 N. Hwy. 69, caller reported an intoxicated woman driving a gray Honda Pilot southbound toward Mineola. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
July 8
6:58 a.m., reckless driver, N. Pacific Street/city limits, report of a white Ford Ranger with a red stripe passing vehicles on the shoulder and traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
7:30 a.m., assist other agency, N.E. Loop 564/N. Pacific St., report of a malfunctioning westbound traffic signal stuck on red, causing motorists to run the light. TxDOT responded to the scene.
11:04 a.m., welfare concern, W. Broad St., officers responded to an open-line 911 call. They were unable to locate anyone in distress.
11:34 a.m., motor vehicle accident, N. Pacific Street/N.E. Loop 564, report of a two-vehicle crash with possible injuries. Vehicles remained in the roadway. Fire and EMS responded. A case report was filed.
9:15 p.m., disturbance, Meadow Brook, report of a male stating his girlfriend assaulted him. No weapons were involved, and EMS was declined. Officer responded.
July 9
12:00 a.m., suspicious person, S. Pacific St., officer contacted an individual in a vehicle parked behind a business after hours. The individual stated he had permission from the keyholder to retrieve items from the dumpster. Permission was verified.
7:32 a.m., public assist, N. Pacific St., caller reported hearing what sounded like a gunshot from inside a business and requested officers clear the building before employees entered. Officers found no signs of gunfire or anyone inside.
8:14 a.m., suspicious person, 1100 block N. Newsom St., report of a vehicle stopped in the roadway. Officer determined the driver was an Uber driver picking up a passenger.
4:48 p.m., harassment, Greenville Avenue, caller reported an ex-boyfriend who previously refused to leave her workplace had left a package outside her job. The caller expressed concern for her safety. Officers established directed patrols.
5:44 p.m., motor vehicle accident, N.E. Loop 564, caller reported a shopping cart struck her vehicle in a parking lot. Officers reviewed available surveillance footage, which was inconclusive.
6:05 p.m., city ordinance violation, 200 block N. Pacific St., caller reported two men driving a black pickup were entering yards and offering to purchase vehicles. Officers were unable to locate them.
7:43 p.m., suspicious person, 1900 block E. Broad St., officer located an abandoned vehicle with a note on the windshield stating the driver would return in a few hours.
8:35 p.m., littering, W. Front St., caller reported a resident had blown grass clippings into the roadway. Officer contacted the homeowner, who agreed to clean the roadway.
July 10
12:33 a.m., motorist assist, N.E. Loop 564, caller requested assistance for her son, who was unable to unlock the steering wheel of a Ford Escape. Officer responded and assisted.
12:54 a.m., information only, 100 block Commerce St., caller reported she was sitting at the gazebo and was unable to find transportation home to Jamestown.
5:05 a.m., assist other agency, S. Hwy. 69/city limits, officers assisted the Wood County Sheriff’s Office with a one-vehicle crash involving minor injuries. Fire and EMS responded. Guardrail damage was reported.
9:55 a.m., welfare concern, Molly Street, caller reported concerns that a family member may have been forced to sign documents regarding a residence earlier this year. Officers contacted family members and a bank. No criminal offense was identified at the time.
11:18 a.m., civil matter, Robin Street, caller reported ongoing issues following the installation of an air conditioning unit. Officer advised the matter was civil in nature and referred the caller to the Justice of the Peace.
1:09 p.m., motor vehicle accident, 400 block E. Broad St., report of a crash blocking the railroad crossing. A case report was filed.
1:41 p.m., public assist, 1100 block S. Pacific St., caller reported a train blocking all railroad crossings for more than an hour. Union Pacific advised the train had broken a knuckle and crews were making repairs. The crossings reopened later that afternoon.
2:47 p.m., welfare concern, Inwood and Ivey streets, caller reported a man repairing a wheelchair in the roadway, creating a traffic hazard. Officer contacted the individual, who moved to a safer location to finish the repair.
3:34 p.m., public assist, 900 block N. Pacific St., caller reported a disabled vehicle with a flat tire partially blocking the roadway. The vehicle was moved out of traffic while the tire was changed.
5:56 p.m., civil matter, Graham Street, caller reported concerns about a neighbor’s security camera potentially viewing inside her residence. Officer advised the matter was civil in nature and referred the caller to the Justice of the Peace.
7:31 p.m., reckless driver, E. Broad Street/city limits, report of a dark gray Ford F-150 unable to maintain its lane and traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
8:07 p.m., motorist assist, 100 block N.E. Loop 564, officers responded after the Wood County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motorist striking a cat. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
8:09 p.m., criminal mischief, W. Broad St., caller reported her black Volvo SUV had been keyed. A case report was filed.
10:11 p.m., theft, N. Newsom St., caller reported someone going through a dumpster. Officer contacted the individual, who left voluntarily.
10:39 p.m., disturbance, W. Kilpatrick St., caller reported her ex-husband was outside her residence yelling. He left before officers arrived. Officers later issued him a criminal trespass warning.
11:21 p.m., disturbance, Greenville Avenue, officers documented a disturbance that occurred earlier in the evening involving two individuals engaged in mutual combat. The parties were separated, no charges were requested, and a juvenile was released to a parent after being treated by EMS.
11:37 p.m., public assist, Bluebird Lane, caller reported a truck parked with a shotgun visible through an open window. Officers determined the vehicle was secure.
Officers also completed 105 traffic stops, 12 animal control calls and 4 alarms.
