Mineola Police Report
Aug. 1
1:17 a.m., suspicious person/vehicle, 300 E Broad; caller reported two shirtless juveniles waving at passing vehicles. Officers located the juveniles and determined they were training for cross country.
1:32 a.m., drug offense, S Pacific at E Broad; reference made to a previous case. Case report filed.
12:41 p.m., motor vehicle accident, NE Loop 564; caller reported a parked truck had been struck and requested surveillance footage to assist with an insurance claim. Officer advised the caller to check back regarding available video.
1:21 p.m., assist other agency, 204 Phillips; officers assisted the fire department with a house fire. Fire department remained on scene.
4:53 p.m., motor vehicle accident, E McDonald at Graham; caller reported a hit-and-run from the previous day. Officers determined a vehicle parked nearby did not match the description of the suspect vehicle, and no report was taken.
Aug. 2
12:02 a.m., suspicious person/vehicle, E McDonald; caller requested an officer check a residence after seeing someone there who was not supposed to be on the property. Officers determined the person was not at the residence and the caller declined to pursue the matter.
9:43 a.m., reckless driver, N Pacific at E Loop 564; caller reported five motorcycles speeding and splitting lanes. Officers advised the motorcycles were last seen northbound leaving the city limits, and the Wood County Sheriff’s Office was notified.
11:36 a.m., welfare concern, N Newsom; caller requested a welfare check on his mother-in-law after not hearing from her since Friday. Officers made contact and confirmed she was OK.
12:16 p.m., motor vehicle accident, 2200 N Pacific; two-vehicle accident with injuries. Two people were transported by EMS with minor injuries.
3:06 p.m., assist other agency, Goodson Circle; officers assisted the fire department with a grass fire. Fire extinguished.
7:33 p.m., resisting arrest/search/transportation, 1900 S Pacific; caller reported a female driving all over the roadway. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
8:02 p.m., theft, McDaniel; caller reported items missing from a residence. Case report filed.
10:09 p.m., suspicious person/vehicle, CR 2724; caller reported a suspicious vehicle. Officers found the subject fishing, and the individual left the area.
10:25 p.m., harassment, N Pacific; caller requested documentation after reporting her child’s father had placed a tracking device in a diaper bag. Information documented.
Aug. 3
12:08 a.m., suspicious person/vehicle, N Newsom; caller reported possible dumpster diving. Officers contacted the individuals and advised them to leave.
2:04 a.m., assist other agency, E FM 49 at NE Loop 564; Wood County Sheriff’s Office reported a possible intoxicated driver. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
10:33 a.m., public assist, 300 Greenville; fingerprints taken.
10:36 a.m., criminal mischief, N Line; caller reported windows and doors had been shot with BB guns. Case report filed, and directed patrol was requested.
11:33 a.m., welfare concern, Edwards at University; caller reported a child unattended in a stroller. Officers determined the child was under a parent’s supervision and found no evidence of criminal activity.
12:42 p.m., assist other agency, W U.S. Hwy. 80; officers assisted the fire department with a structure fire.
1:06 p.m., public assist, S Pacific at Bromberg; caller reported debris in the roadway. Officers cleared the roadway.
2:30 p.m., motorist assist, N Pacific at NE Loop 564; officers assisted a disabled vehicle in the intersection. The vehicle was back in operation before officers left.
4:36 p.m., vehicle stop, 1200 W Broad; citation issued.
5 p.m., littering, CR 2810 at Lowe; caller reported tires dumped beside the road. The driver advised the tires had fallen off a trailer and had already been picked up. Officers confirmed the area was clear.
7:52 p.m., assist other agency, Goodson Circle; officers assisted EMS with an elderly woman who had fallen. The patient was transported by EMS.
10:06 p.m., reckless driver, 1800 N Pacific; caller reported a vehicle traveling without headlights and unable to maintain a lane. Officers determined the driver was using parking lights and was having trouble locating the headlight switch.
10:06 p.m., found property, NE Loop 564; caller reported finding a cup containing needles and an unknown substance. Case report filed after officers collected the items for testing.
Aug. 4
3:34 a.m., suspicious person/vehicle, 100 N Johnson; caller reported hearing a man yelling profanity in the area. Officers checked surrounding streets but were unable to locate anyone.
3:42 a.m., reckless driver, NE Loop 564; caller reported a pickup swerving toward him in a parking lot. Officers were unable to locate a matching vehicle.
7:37 a.m., motorist assist, W Loop 564 at Hwy. 80; officers assisted two vehicles. Everything was found to be OK.
9:11 a.m., found property, N Pacific at Greenville; bicycle recovered and owner located.
2:31 p.m., civil matter, Lee Drive; caller reported house keys left in the front door had been taken. Directed patrol requested.
3:38 p.m., reckless driver, 100 N Pacific; multiple callers reported a vehicle unable to maintain a single lane that had struck another vehicle. The driver was taken into custody. Case report filed.
5:15 p.m., motor vehicle accident, McDonald at Pacific; caller reported the other driver left after providing license information but no insurance information. Incident report filed.
8:30 p.m., welfare concern, 1000 S Pacific; caller apologized after accidentally calling the emergency line while trying to reach a supervisor. Officers confirmed everything was OK.
9:20 p.m., information only, N Pacific; employee reported selling alcohol to an adult customer who was accompanied by teenagers. Officer determined no violation had occurred and documented the information.
9:38 p.m., suspicious person/vehicle, Nature Preserve; officer checked on a parked vehicle. The owner was located and departed the area.
Aug. 5
2:26 a.m., motorist assist, Greenville; officer located a vehicle in a parking lot with its lights on. The vehicle was found locked and secure.
9:29 a.m., assist other agency, N Hwy. 37 at CR 2320; caller reported a firearm in the roadway. Officers cleared a jammed round before the Wood County Sheriff’s Office took possession of the firearm.
10:56 a.m., public assist, 300 Greenville; officer answered a legal question regarding gaming inside a gas station.
11:53 a.m., welfare concern, Mimosa; officers investigated a report of possible abuse at a care facility. After speaking with those involved, officers observed no evidence supporting the allegation and advised the facility to conduct an internal investigation.
2:56 p.m., public assist, University at Edwards; caller reported a vehicle parked in the roadway. Officers found no vehicle blocking the roadway.
4:40 p.m., assist other agency, N Pacific at the city limits; officers assisted the Wood County Sheriff’s Office after a vehicle was reported dropping items onto the roadway. Deputies made contact with the driver.
4:58 p.m., public assist, Ivy Street; caller reported concerns that an elderly neighbor was being targeted by a phone scam. Officer documented the information and advised the caller how to report the incident if needed.
5:41 p.m., information only, 300 Greenville; caller requested information regarding an inmate’s property.
Aug. 6
12:46 a.m., suspicious person/vehicle, CR 2724; officer checked on a parked vehicle and determined the driver was searching for a lost dog.
4:22 a.m., suspicious person/vehicle, N Newsom; officer checked on a parked vehicle and determined the driver was dropping off a donation.
1:17 p.m., information only, 300 Greenville; case report filed.
1:57 p.m., trespassing, NE Loop 564; caller requested a female be criminally trespassed from a business. Officers were unable to locate the subject.
2:03 p.m., welfare concern, Park Place; officers responded to a medical alarm. Dispatch contacted the resident, who advised everything was OK.
2:13 p.m., suspicious person/vehicle, 100 N Johnson; caller reported a man sleeping on a bench. Officers were unable to locate the subject.
2:36 p.m., terroristic threat, NE Loop 564; criminal trespass warning issued.
5:38 p.m., sexual assault, Debby Lane; caller reported an assault that allegedly occurred several years earlier. Case report filed.
5:47 p.m., motorist assist, 700 N Pacific; officers assisted with two disabled vehicles in the roadway.
6:59 p.m., information only, Giles; vehicle repossession documented.
7:49 p.m., suspicious person/vehicle, N Pacific; caller reported a person lying on tables outside a business before moving to the parking lot. Officers determined the subject was not intoxicated.
10:22 p.m., disturbance, N Newsom; caller reported her boyfriend was preventing her from leaving in her vehicle while her child was inside. Officers separated the parties and determined no offense had occurred.
Aug. 7
7:48 a.m., information only, 100 W Front; caller reported a portable toilet had been tipped over. Officer determined it did not appear intentional and notified the street department for pickup.
8:10 a.m., animal control, Spring Lake; trap checked, found empty and reset.
11:18 a.m., motor vehicle accident, NE Loop 564; two-vehicle accident. Information exchanged, and officers reported no damage to either vehicle.
1:20 p.m., suspicious person/vehicle, Isabella; caller reported a pickup parked in the middle of the roadway. The vehicle was moved and parked on private property.
1:33 p.m., motor vehicle accident, 300 block Greenville; two-vehicle accident. Case report filed.
2:48 p.m., disturbance, NE Loop 564; caller reported a physical altercation involving several adults and a child. Officers determined two male subjects had trespassed from the property. Case report filed.
3:10 p.m., motor vehicle accident, 1100 block N Pacific; accident reported. Information exchanged.
4:09 p.m., theft, 300 Greenville; caller reported stolen prescription medication. Officer referred the caller to the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office.
8:33 p.m., welfare concern, E Broad; officers responded to a 911 hang-up and determined it was an accidental call.
9:49 p.m., reckless driver, S Pacific; Wood County Sheriff’s Office reported a speeding vehicle traveling northbound. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
Officers also made 70 traffic stops and received 11 animal control calls and 5 alarm calls.
