Mineola Police Report
Aug. 22
12:36 a.m., reckless driver, Hwy. 69 at city limits; Wood County Sheriff’s Office reported a vehicle unable to maintain a single lane while traveling from Alba toward Mineola. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
1:40 a.m., assist other agency, Greenville Highway; officers assisted EMS and the fire department after an elderly man fell. The patient was transported by EMS.
5:58 a.m., reckless driver, 1000 S. Pacific; caller reported a maroon Chevrolet pickup unable to maintain a single lane while passing vehicles. Information was relayed to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office.
9:17 a.m., assist other agency, Freeman; officers assisted EMS, the fire department and a justice of the peace during a death investigation. Case report filed.
10:27 a.m., motor vehicle accident, E. McDonald at Graham; two-vehicle accident with no injuries. Airbags deployed, vehicles were towed and a case report was filed.
11:51 a.m., found property, W. Broad; driver’s license located and returned to its owner.
12:03 p.m., welfare concern, W. Kilpatrick; caller requested a welfare check on a sibling after not hearing from them. Officers made contact and confirmed the subject was safe after learning she had gone to lunch with a friend.
1:58 p.m., public assist, 300 Greenville; caller requested to speak with an officer. Questions were answered.
3:49 p.m., assist other agency, CR 2724; officers assisted Lindale Police Department in locating a missing/endangered person. Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens, K-9 units, a drone team and EMS also responded to the search.
Aug. 23
12:17 a.m., unknown offense, E. Broad; Spanish-speaking caller reported someone was trying to get into his room. Officers responded but found no one at the location and determined no offense had occurred.
6:09 a.m., assist other agency, CR 2724; officers assisted with a follow-up search for a missing person. EMS stood by, TDCJ tracking dogs were deployed, and the subject was located later that afternoon.
12:04 p.m., assist other agency, N. Line; officers assisted the fire department and EMS with a medical call. The patient was left in the care of EMS.
12:50 p.m., suspicious person/vehicle, 600 block Inwood; officers followed up on a previous call involving a vehicle parked in the roadway. The owner advised the vehicle would be moved within a few hours, and officers warned it would be towed if it remained a traffic hazard.
6:14 p.m., disturbance, Sycamore; caller reported a person causing trouble and refusing to leave. Officers issued a criminal trespass warning.
8:55 p.m., suspicious person/vehicle, CR 2724; officers checked on a reported suspicious vehicle and advised they would return to check on it again later.
8:58 p.m., assist other agency, Debby Lane; officers assisted EMS with a medical call. EMS remained on scene.
Aug. 24
4:27 a.m., welfare concern, W. Kilpatrick; caller requested a welfare check on a partner who had not answered the phone after saying he was on his way home from Lindale. Officers located the subject at his residence and confirmed everything was OK.
11:34 a.m., information only, N. Newsom; abandoned vehicle removed from a parking lot. The vehicle’s owner had previously been transported by EMS, and the vehicle was towed.
1:48 p.m., theft, Country Club; caller reported concerns that a former employee had threatened to steal property. Officers advised the caller to contact police if any items were later found to be missing.
1:52 p.m., terroristic threat, 300 Greenville; caller reported receiving concerning messages through his daughter. Officers determined no threats had been made and advised the caller to stop responding.
2:58 p.m., motorist assist, 100 block W. Broad; officers assisted with a disabled minivan that was blocking the roadway.
5:36 p.m., reckless driver, W. Broad at city limits; caller reported a small black SUV speeding eastbound. Officers learned the vehicle had already reached a residence on FM 1254.
5:59 p.m., reckless driver, S. Pacific; caller reported a black Chevrolet pickup unable to maintain a single lane. Officers observed no traffic violations.
8:42 p.m., harassment, Loop 564; caller reported a man exposed himself. Officers determined the suspect had not exposed himself, and no offense occurred.
9:30 p.m., information only, N. Pacific; caller reported a blue Nissan blocking parking spaces at an apartment complex. Officers advised they would contact the property owner.
Aug. 25
2:19 a.m., assist other agency, Wigley; officers responded to assist EMS. Fire department response was canceled after EMS arrived on scene.
2:49 a.m., city ordinance violation, Dubose; caller reported a small controlled fire. Officers confirmed the fire had been extinguished.
11:38 a.m., suspicious person/vehicle, N. Pacific; caller reported an elderly man flirted with her, then photographed her license plate and the side of her vehicle. Officers advised no criminal offense had occurred.
3:14 p.m., theft, Minwood; caller reported the license plate had been stolen from a boat trailer. Officers documented the incident after the caller found no evidence on security cameras.
3:22 p.m., civil matter, N. Johnson; caller expressed concerns about her ex-husband’s behavior and requested to speak with an officer regarding custody of their children. Officers advised it was a civil matter and instructed the caller to contact police if he arrived while intoxicated.
5:03 p.m., motorist assist, E. McDonald at N. Pacific; officers assisted a disabled vehicle. Everything was found to be OK.
Aug. 26
11:18 a.m., disturbance, 600 W. Kilpatrick; caller reported a verbal disturbance after a dog was nearly struck in the roadway. Officers determined it was verbal only, the parties separated and no criminal offense occurred.
11:33 a.m., assist other agency, Greenville; officers assisted EMS with a medical call. The subject voluntarily went with EMS.
4:08 p.m., public assist, McDonald at N. Pacific; officers responded to a box truck blocking traffic after it ran out of gas. The vehicle was back on the roadway after the driver returned with fuel.
4:25 p.m., welfare concern, Broad at Pacific; caller reported an elderly woman sitting in a vehicle on the shoulder for more than 30 minutes. Officers found the vehicle had broken down, provided water to the driver and confirmed a friend was coming to help. The vehicle was out of the roadway.
4:46 p.m., fraud, S. Pacific; caller reported being scammed out of money and said the suspect was threatening additional credit charges and late fees. Case report filed.
11:51 p.m., suspicious person/vehicle, Graves; caller reported someone tried to enter a residence through the back door. Officers searched the home, found no signs of anyone inside and requested directed patrol for the area.
Aug. 27
2:32 a.m., suspicious person/vehicle, Graves; caller reported hearing someone on the front porch. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate anyone.
5:43 a.m., welfare concern, N. Pacific; caller reported a man sleeping on a mattress on the north side of the road. Officers contacted the man, who agreed to leave the property.
6:12 a.m., public assist, 300 block N. Pacific; officers cleared debris from the roadway.
6:41 a.m., welfare concern, W. Loop 564; caller reported receiving an SOS alert from a residence. Officers were unable to locate anyone needing assistance.
11:17 a.m., assist other agency, E. Broad; officers assisted EMS with a subject who had fallen and could not get up. The subject declined transport.
12:02 p.m., suspicious person/vehicle, N. Newsom; caller reported a Navy blue pickup had been parked for several days. Officers found the owner asleep inside the vehicle.
1:16 p.m., assist other agency, N. Newsom; officers assisted EMS and the fire department with a medical call. The patient was transported by EMS to a Tyler hospital.
6:42 p.m., assault, Goodson Circle; caller reported her son threatened to stab her during an argument over a video game. A juvenile was taken into custody and transported by the Wood County Sheriff’s Office to a juvenile detention facility. Case report filed.
10:24 p.m., welfare concern, N. Pacific; dispatch received a medical alarm but was initially unable to reach the resident. Officers later confirmed she was OK and notified the reporting party.
Aug. 28
1:33 p.m., drug offense, N. Pacific; citizen turned in a bottle of pills for disposal. The medication was destroyed.
1:27 p.m., public assist, S. Pacific; caller reported vehicles parked on both sides of the street were making it difficult to turn onto McWhorter. Officers determined the vehicles were legally parked.
1:54 p.m., public assist, CR 2724; caller reported a major water leak. The water department was contacted and advised it would address the problem.
2:35 p.m., information only; vehicle repossession documented.
3:27 p.m., reckless driver, 1900 block N. Pacific; caller reported a white pickup speeding and tailgating since Sulphur Springs. Officers responded to the area.
4:36 p.m., reckless driver, NE Loop 564; caller reported a white Ford Focus unable to maintain a single lane and traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers stopped the vehicle, arrested the driver and transported the subject to the Wood County Jail. Additional case reports were filed for driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest/search/transportation and possession of a dangerous drug.
6:06 p.m., welfare concern, N. Newsom; caller reported concerns that her mother was being scammed. Officers advised they would contact the reporting party as soon as possible.
7:45 p.m., sexual assault, Debby Lane; officers received information from a person in custody regarding an alleged sexual assault. Case report filed.
8:12 p.m., assist other agency, CR 2745; officers assisted the Wood County Sheriff’s Office by checking on the status of a deputy who was not responding to status checks. The deputy was located.
Mineola police also made 68 vehicle stops, and answered 17 animal control alls and 2 alarms.
