MISD students, staff honored
From the district meeting when school administrators wondered whether the high school fall sports seasons would even be able to be completed, Superintendent Cody Mize said Mineola had a great season and was the only school in the district to be able to play all its football games.
The school board recognized all the fall sports teams at last week’s board meeting – all of which went on to post-season success – as well as the monthly student and staff recognitions.
High school football, volleyball and cross country teams were honored.
In student recognitions, primary students of the month were Head Start pupils Braylee Sampson and Jaxon Wilson.
From the elementary the students were third graders Avery Ballard and Cooper Young.
At junior high the honorees were sixth graders Christian Tolentino and Sara Calderon.
At high school, freshmen Chevelle Smith and Aiden Gould earned the honors.
Charlotte Jerome was recognized as the support staff member of the month, from the primary cafeteria.
High school chemistry Kevin Clevenger was named teacher of the month.
