Rachel Ida Pinney Rivers 1932-2024

Mrs. Rachel Ida Pinney Rivers, 92, of Yantis passed away June 4, 2024 in Yantis. She was born March 30, 1932 in Hinsdale, N.Y. to Husted an Luella Mae Hamilton Pinney. Rachel had lived the last 23 years in Yantis and was a member of Lake Fork Baptist Church. She married Wally Rivers in Irving in January 1986. She owned and operated her own beauty shop for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wally Rivers; infant son, Clifford Allen Deitrich; three sisters, Viola Bryant, Thelma Minchew, and Barbara Jones; and brother, Glenn Thurber.

Survivors include her two daughters, Sandy Stephenson and husband Bob and Kathy Williamson and husband Ken all of Yantis; sister, Frances Hurst of Breman, Ga.; seven grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will have a memorial service honoring Mrs. Rivers at a later date.
