Mystery is on the menu at Mineola Pilot Club fundraiser
The Pilot Club of Mineola will present this year’s murder mystery written by Roy Shockey entitled “High Stakes Porker,” which takes place in an East Texas restaurant (the Mineola Civic Center). Local actors will be playing this famous card game when a murder happens.
This will take place on Saturday, April 25 at 6 p.m., and the deadline for making reservations is just a few days away. No tickets will be sold at the door. The sixth annual fundraiser for the Mineola Pilot Club will include Lucky Bucket items, a live auction, the MHS Anchor Club’s “Pretty Purses” and Chef Tyler’s pulled pork and all the fixings.
Bucket items include a Bryan’s cheesecake, candle lamp, Kendra Scott necklace, an air cooker, two sets of gift cards, a kitchen basket, gift card to Mineola Packing Company and Glen’ Dossett’s Adirondack chairs. Lucky Bucket tickets are $5 each or six for $20. This year’s live auction includes an America 250 quilt designed by Pam Fletcher and a week’s stay at Morning Star cabin in Cuchara, Colo.
The MHS Anchor Club will offer a variety of purses for $20 each, and someone who buys a purse will win a Dooney & Bourke bag in a drawing. This fundraiser helps members of the Anchor Club in traveling to convention.
Celebrity waiters include Cody Mize, John Dollarhide, Jennifer Henson, Kirk Henson, Jeffrey White and Jerry Gaskill Jr. Waiters vie for the title of “Biggest Tip” which, of course is donated to the Pilot Club.
