One-act play troupes advance in competition
Alba-Golden, Mineola and Quitman High School One-Act Plays have advanced to bidistrict competition after their performances at the district level.
Alba-Golden One-Act Play won district for the third straight year with its presentation of “The Book of Everything,” earning first place votes from all three judges.
Individual awards
All-Star Technician - Alex Reyes
Honorable Mention All-Star Cast - Olivia Morrison and the entire ensemble (Ricky Milam, Simon Ortega, Ryan Booth, Braden Rankin, Maxx Davis, Addison Crutchfield, Khloe Frazier, Naomi Durham, Irelyn Stone, and Danica O’Quinn)
All-Star Cast - Hunter Whitecotton
Outstanding performer - Dylan Nichols
Quitman and Mineola took two of the top three places at district to advance to bidistrict March 29.
Quitman performed “The Lost Boy” and earned the following awards:
Best Performer - Jordan Watts
All Star Cast - Wesley Irwin
Honor Crew - Nick Williams
Best Tech Crew - Nick Williams, McKenna Wood, Braleigh Wood, Maycie Miller, Faith Council
Mineola performed “Little Women” and earned the following awards:
Honor Crew - Sophia Duncan
Honorable Mention All Star Cast - Alex Reyes
All Star Cast - Elsie Adair
Best Performer - Meelah Amason.
