Pair of trick-or-treat events planned in Quitman

The Quitman Chamber of Commerce is getting ready for Halloween. The chamber has been a part of organizing the annual downtown Candy Walk on Friday, Oct. 29. Businesses will be giving out candy to those in costumes celebrating Halloween from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. 

On Sunday, Oct. 31, the Quitman Chamber is sponsoring “Trunk or Treat” on the north side of the Wood County courthouse from 5 to 7 p.m. Church groups and businesses are encouraged to participate so local children will have a safe place to trick or treat this year.

There will also be another “Sunday Market in the Park” at Jim Hogg City Park Sunday, Oct. 17. Over 20 vendors have signed up and there will be local produce for purchase.
