Pair receives Grammy award nominations
Two female musical artists with ties to the Mineola area have been nominated for Grammy Awards.
And it is not the first time for either.
Kacey Musgraves, the country music sensation with ties to Golden and Mineola, where she graduated, has earned two nominations for a song on which she is featured with Zach Bryan.
“I Remember Everything” was nominated in two categories: Best Country Song and Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
Ruthie Foster, who called Mineola home as a youngster and whose father still resides in the area, was nominated for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
Foster performed at the McFarland school earlier in the year as part of the city’s sesquicentennial celebration, featuring a range of soul, blues and gospel numbers.
