The Mineola Sound of the Swarm high school marching band moved even higher in the state marching band archives with its fifth state championship Wednesday night at the San Antonio Alamodome.
The band has qualified for the last seven Conference 3A championships and will bring home its seventh medal, with a bronze in 2015, a silver in 2023 and championships in 2017, 2019, 2021, 2024 and this year.
Only a handful of bands in all classifications have won more than five titles.
Rounding out this year's medals are Raymondville in second and Redwater in third.
