Pilot Club of Quitman to host Dolly-themed designer handbag bingo fundraiser
The Pilot Club of Quitman will host a Dolly Parton-themed designer handbag bingo fundraiser Friday, Nov. 13, at the Carroll Green Civic Center in Quitman.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Proceeds will support the club’s literacy and community service projects. Tables for eight cost $400 and include dinner and one bingo card per guest for 10 rounds of bingo.
Designer handbags will be awarded as prizes. Each game will include a second-chance round for additional prizes, with wristbands sold separately.
Cards for a final bonus round featuring a Louis Vuitton purse will also be sold separately. Additional prizes will be raffled.
Guests may bring their own beer or wine. T
o honor the legacy of Dolly Parton, guests are encouraged to embrace their inner Dolly with glitz, glamour, rhinestones, sparkle and even some over-the-top big hair. Prizes will be awarded to some of the best-dressed guests.
The Pilot Club of Quitman is the local partner for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. A portion of the proceeds will help fund the program, which sends a free book each month to children from birth to age 5 in Yantis, Alba, Golden and Quitman.
“We can’t think of a better way to celebrate Dolly and her legacy than an evening with a little sparkle and a whole lot of heart. We’re looking forward to an over-the-top night of fun that supports the good work our club does in the community, and one that celebrates a legend,” said Amy Park, event chairwoman.
The club also presents brain safety programs in the Alba-Golden, Quitman and Yantis school districts, hosts locally sanctioned Special Olympics events and supports the Anchors, a teen service group.
Proceeds will help fund these programs and other club initiatives. Tables are limited. For more information, visit quitmanpilot.org. Tickets and extras may be purchased at https:// www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/purse-bingo-event.
