Pilot Club sponsoring cutest pet at Iron Horse Festival

A new event will be added to the Iron Horse Heritage Festival in Mineola Saturday, Sept. 28.

The Mineola Pilot Club is sponsoring the Cutest Pet Contest. This will take place at 2 p.m. prior to the dachshund races on Commerce and Line Streets.

Pets of all kinds may enter in five categories including Cutest Pet, Best Photo, Best Dressed in the Iron Horse Theme, Best Stage Presence and Owner/Pet Look Alike. Each category is $10. Judges will choose an overall pet winner.

Registration will start at 1:30 p.m. at the Iron Horse Festival or on the Pilot Club Facebook page prior to the contest.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
