A specific use permit to allow a mobile home to be placed at 415 Hart St. was passed by the Mineola City Council Monday without opposition.

But the property in question revealed a misplaced alley next to the site.

Planning Director David Madsen said that while the alley is shown on the city map, the actual alley is not where it is supposed to be.

He said the property owner had the property surveyed and was in the process of erecting a fence when the project was halted because it appeared to be in the alley.

But it turns out the fence would be four inches inside the property line.

The alley is actually supposed to be about 6-8 feet to the east, where a row of bushes is located on the other side.

Madsen said he is unsure how to remedy the situation as it is an issue between property owners.
