The Quitman Bulldogs put together an impressive week on the diamond, earning back-to-back wins over Eustace behind dominant pitching, aggressive base running, and consistent hitting.

Quitman opened the series with an 11-1 victory on Tuesday, powered by a standout performance from Canin Peppers. The left-hander was in complete control, pitching a one-hitter, striking out 13 batters and allowing just one run over six innings.

The Bulldogs wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, as Colten Barkdull drew a walk in the first inning to bring home the game’s opening run. Quitman extended its lead in the third inning with a series of hits. Logan Davis sparked the rally with a double to left field, followed by RBI singles from Barkdull and Jonas Prather to stretch the lead.

Quitman finished with nine hits in the contest. Davis Watson drove in two runs to lead the offense, while Barkdull and Prather each collected two hits.

The momentum carried into Friday’s matchup, where Quitman secured an 8-1 victory to complete the sweep. Once again, the Bulldogs jumped out early. Davis delivered a key hit in the first inning to drive in two runs and set the tone. Watson added to the lead in the third with a solo home run to right field.

On the mound, Watson was just as impressive. He earned the win after tossing five shutout innings, allowing only three hits while striking out nine and walking one. Davis later came in on relief to help close out the game.

Quitman’s offense performed impressively, racking up 12 hits. Peppers led the charge with a huge performance at the plate, collecting four hits including a double. Mason Williams added three hits of his own in a strong showing.

Patience and discipline were also key factors, as the Bulldogs drew six walks. Watson and Jonathan Hayes each had two. Quitman’s aggressive approach on the bases proved to be a difference-maker, with multiple players — including Peppers, Juan Ramirez, Gavin Head, Watson, and Davis — stealing multiple bases. As a team, the Bulldogs totaled an impressive 14 stolen bases, and they also turned a double play defensively.
