Quitman church planning annual community event

Posted

Faith Baptist Church of Quitman will hold VBS EXPRESS PLUS on Saturday, June 3. The event will start at 3 p.m. with a one-session Vacation Bible School for children ending at 6 p.m. A family-oriented Community Block Party will be held from 6-8 p.m.

“Faith Baptist is holding this evening to celebrate the end of school for Quitman ISD while ushering in the summer months ahead,” said Faith Baptist pastor Mike Midkiff. “This is a time for the children and their families to enjoy a family-oriented outing at no cost.”

VBS EXPRESS will be held in the Faith Baptist Student Center, next to the Quitman police station for children four-years-old through completed fifth grade. Children will rotate through different stations in the student center.

One station is a puppet show about Jonah and the Great Fish from the Old Testament of the Bible. “Kornpop the Klown” will conclude VBS EXPRESS with his fun antics and a presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The “PLUS” to “VBS EXPRESS” is the Community Block Party on the church parking lot, 405 S. Hart Street, that evening. The block party is for the whole community to gather for an evening of games, inflatables, cake walk, face painting, petting zoo, free grilled hotdogs and more.

All activities planned for “VBS Express Plus!” will be of no expense for those who attend. For more information call 903-492-3535 or visit www.faithbaptistquitman.org.
