Quitman council names P&Z members
The Quitman City Council met in special session last Thursday and appointed new members to the Planning and Zoning Commission and appointed a new chairman of that group.
Lynn Emmert and Alderman Steve Glenn were named to the commission. Rev. Mike Midkiff was appointed to chair the commission.
The council approved an ordinance granting Atmos Energy Corporation a franchise to construct, maintain and operate pipeline and equipment in the city of Quitman.
No action was taken on an ordinance to facilitate traffic flow during school pick-up times on Paul St. on the west side of the elementary campus.
The council also approved a 2024 City of Quitman investment policy. Aldermen approved a resolution approving adding Hilltop Securities to the 2024 broker list for Quitman.
A new holiday schedule for city staff was also approved.
