Quitman ISD teacher given check
Connie Simon, a junior high teacher with Quitman ISD, entered a $10,000 sweepstakes through Hilltop Securities. She was chosen to be in the top five out of thousands of applicants, which won her a sweepstakes prize. Simon chose the Quitman ISD Educational Fund (QEF) to be the beneficiary of the money. The QEF has given almost $8,000 to Quitman ISD teachers in the form of a “clear the Amazon Wishlist” campaign at the beginning of the school year. Pictured are Clayton Sheppard, the head of new business development; Sandra Jasso, Junior Highschool assistant principal; Joanne Wisdom, who is on the QEF board; Brook Rogers, who is on the QEF board; Simon; a Hilltop Securities representative; Bryan Hurst, the assistant superintendent; and Emily Strong, who is also on the QEF board. The buffalo is Hilltop Security’s mascot.
