Thanks to a generous donation from the Friends of the Quitman Public Library, we are adding to our collection of graphic novels. Graphic novels are stories written and illustrated in the style of a comic combining illustrations with short bursts of text usually presented in a series of rectangular panels. The stories in a graphic novel unfold in a clear sequence and are fun to read. The target audience is younger readers, but adults enjoy these books as well.

Friends of the Quitman Public Library will celebrate Valentine’s Day early on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at noon in the Thurman Shamburger Community Room. The public is invited to join the group for light refreshments and entertainment by local singer and guitarist Gordon Shulz. Friends of the Quitman Public Library is an active group of volunteers dedicated to growth and improvement of the library.
