Summer Reading Rodeo 2024 is in full swing during June. The program is designed for ages pre-K through 10. There will be special events each Wednesday in June from 1-2 p.m.  Stop by the front desk and pick up your reading game card and an event schedule. On June 19, we welcome Miss Devon Dawson as “Jessie, the Yodeling Cowgirl,” known for being the singing voice of the Toy Story 2 character on the Grammy-winning children’s album “Woody’s Roundup featuring Riders in the Sky.” Dress up in your best western duds.

Lots of summer activities are happening at the library. Here are some clubs that meet regularly at the library: QPL Knitting and Crochet Group meets each Thursday, 2-4 p.m. Students of all ages and skill levels may bring their own supplies and patterns to trade. The Wood County Metal Detector Club, led by Jerry Tinney, meets on 1st Mondays at 6:30 p.m. Whyte Dove Writers’ Club, a distinctive group of local published authors, meets monthly on second Tuesdays from 6-8:30 p.m. The Wood County TX Genealogical Society meets each 3rd Monday at 5 p.m. in the community room.
