Quitman Library Connections
A Spring Book Sale is happening April 28-May 1 at the Quitman Public Library and is hosted by the Friends of the Library. We are still accepting donations during business hours: books, audiobooks, DVDs, puzzles, board games, computer games and software, music albums, tapes and CDs. Regular hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
UT Health will present free information about its new outpatient program for mental health called Senior Life Solutions on Wednesday, May 6 at 2 p.m. in the library community room. The program is geared for those 65 and over.
The Wood County TX Genealogical Society invites family researchers and historians to meet on the 3rd Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the community room. The next meeting is May 18.
Whyte Dove Writers’ Club group of local published authors meets on second Tuesdays from 6-8:30 p.m. This workshop is free and open to the public.
Earning a General Educational Development certificate is easier when you have a professional tutor who can guide you through the process. Contact Sara de la Rosa at saradelarosa@outlook.com or stop by the library during class hours each Wednesday, 4-6 p.m.
QPL Knitting & Crochet Class meets each Thursday, 2-4 p.m. at the library. Students of all ages and skill levels are invited.
Wood County Metal Detector Club, led by Jerry Tinney, meets on 1st Mondays at 6:30 p.m. in the community room.
