Quitman Rotary Club to hold blood drive
The Quitman Rotary Club will be holding their second blood drive of the year on Wednesday, March 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will take place inside JOY Hall at the Quitman First United Methodist Church.
Organizers note that a quilted tote bag and a St. Patrick’s Day shirt will be given to donors.
“A blood donation takes about 30 minutes for the pre physical and blood draw. The blood draw typically requires 10-15 minutes to donate a pint of whole blood,” wrote the Quitman Rotary Club.
Carter Blood Care has also modified and made their Dedicated Donor Reward program consistent for all types of donations. The new guidelines/rules can be found here: https://www.carterbloodcare.org/donate-blood/dedicated-donor-rewards/
The Rotary Club said that there will only be 35 appointments at their March event; however, if an interested party does not get an appointment, the Rotary Club holds 5 events a year. The next will be in May.

With their most recent drive, held on Jan. 8, the Rotary Club passed over 300 units collected since the program’s inception in May of 2023.
