Quitman Sunday Market in the Park going monthly

Sunday Market in the Park in Quitman is making changes.

“We have canceled any activity in August due to Old Settlers Reunion and with school beginning and the extreme heat. We are changing our format to monthly,” said event coordinator Illa Wisdom.

The new dates are the third Sunday of the month for the fall months, Sept. 19, Oct. 17 and Nov. 21.

These will include a food truck or catering of dinner at 5 p.m. and live music in the evenings from 6-8 under the pavilion. Vendors will be set up during the afternoon.

“We are still trying to offer Quitman a family fun-filled Sunday afternoon here locally and to pull Quitman together one month at a time,” Wisdom added.

Organizations in the community are welcome to reach out to be a part of this monthly event.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
