Quitman team tops in state FFA
The Quitman Greenhand quiz team won the state championship during last week’s Future Farmers of America Leadership Development Events competition, which was held virtually this year. They are Christian Adamson, Isabel Corbat, Kendall Davis and Katelyn De Gorostiza.
Adamson had the highest individual score in the state. De Gorostiza was sixth, Davis 16th and Corbet 30th.
Two other Wood County teams placed in the top 10.
The Mineola ag advocacy team of Sunni Ruffin, Ava Johnson and Alex Barriga and the Alba-Golden senior quiz team of Bella Crawford, Cameron Galyean, Samuel Louderman and Thai Peterson each advanced to the finals in their events, placing eighth.
