Quitman volleyball gears up for summer activities
Girl’s coordinator and head volleyball coach Ashlee Lingo has made plans to keep the Quitman Lady Bulldogs busy. Volleyball begins two-a-days Aug. 2.
Summer workouts for volleyball will be in full swing this summer. The new weight room will be put to solid use throughout the summer days.
The ETX Volleyball Academy will be holding a skills camp at the high school gym July 14-16. Times are set at 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. The Skills Camp is designed for athletes 14-18.
The camp will cover basic and advanced individual skills which are essential to achieve peak volleyball performance. Campers will receive top level instruction by qualified coaches and staff. The goal is to create a fun teaching environment allowing athletes to better understand the technical aspects of the game.
The cost of the camp is $85 per camper which includes a T-shirt. The camp director is Kristen Reaves.
Registration must be filled out prior to camp. Everyone must pay with cash or Venmo; checks will not be accepted. Campers need to bring volleyball shoes, socks, knee pads and a good attitude.
No meals will be provided. Campers need to make plans to bring a lunch, leave the school for lunch or have someone bring lunch to them.
There will also be daily workouts and open gym in June and July leading up to two-a-days.
A camp will be held June 13 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. for 4th through 7th grades. The afternoon camp is for 8th and 9th graders and it will be from 12:30-3:30 p.m.
