Ricky Lee “Rick” Harris 1950-2024

Services for Ricky Lee “Rick” Harris, 73, of Mineola were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Parker officiating.

Interment was in Creagleville Cemetery.

Mr. Harris passed away March 3, 2024 in Tyler. He was born Oct. 17, 1950 in Midland to Richard Wayne and Patsy Buckland Harris. Ricky was a member of the US Army from 1972-1979, serving in Colorado Springs, Ft. Hood, Germany and Oklahoma. He married Karen Delayne Humphreys in Mineola on June 7, 1980. They lived in Mineola for the past 42 years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Mineola, where he taught Sunday School, served as a deacon, and taught Royal Rangers.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, David Northcutt; and brother Jeff Harris.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Karen Harris of Mineola; three sons, Matt Harris and wife Buffi of Mineola, Chris Harris of Clyde and Michael Harris and wife Ginger of Baird; stepdaughter, Gina Dickerson and husband Elton of Clyde; two brothers, Gordon Harris of Oklahoma and Chuck Harris and wife Vicki of Mineola; two sisters, Nita Leonardi and husband Jerry of Mineola and Sherri Weatheread of Mineola; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
