The runoff election from the party primaries in March is scheduled Tuesday, May 28, with early voting commencing next week, May 20-25.

All early voting is being conducted at the county elections office in Quitman, just southwest of the courthouse, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The only contest on the ballot in Wood County will be for voters in county commissioner Precinct One.

Randy Dunn and Justin Bowring are vying for the Republican nomination.

The winner on May 28 will also earn the office come Jan. 1, as there is no Democratic Party opposition.

Dunn polled 925 votes in the primary to Bowring’s 886.

Incumbent Virgil Holland placed third with 827, necessitating the runoff.

Election Day locations will be as follows from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Carroll Green Civic Center, Quitman, Prec. 1-1

Yantis Community Center, Prec. 1-2

Alba Community Center Prec. 1-3

Harold Simmons Community Center-Golden, Prec. 1-4.
