Mineola has earned the silver medal as the second place band, and Whitesboro wins the championship.
Earlier:
The Mineola High School Sound of the Swarm marching band has advanced to the finals of the UIL state marching contest for the fifth straight time.
The band will march at 9:00 p.m., and the final results are set to be announced at 9:45 p.m. from the Alamodome in San Antonio.
Winnsboro also advanced and marches at 8:15. Ten bands advanced.
Mineola is the three-time defending champion from 2017, 2019 and 2021 and advanced as the first-place band from Area C.
