Stitchin’ Heaven plans veterans quilt events

Stitchin’ Heaven in Quitman will host a Quilts of Valor ceremony and luncheon Friday, Nov. 11 at 11:11 a.m.

The presentation will be at the county courthouse and is free to attend.

The luncheon will be held at the Stitchin’ Heaven event center from 12:30-3.

Guest speakers include the Combat Quilter, the Quilting Marine and Rob Appell.

Required register is online at stitchinheaven.com, along with more information. No charge for veterans and first responders. Adult tickets are $20 and children $10.

All luncheon proceeds benefit the They Got Your 6 Foundation.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
