Texas Veterans Commission, Vet Tix announce statewide collaboration

Posted

AUSTIN - The Texas Veterans Commission and Vet Tix, also known as the Veteran Tickets Foundation, have announced a statewide collaboration aimed at expanding access to recreational opportunities and connecting Texas veterans, service members and their families with resources and support.
Through a memorandum of understanding, the organizations will use their networks to increase awareness of Vet Tix’s complimentary event ticket program and services available through the Texas Veterans Commission.
The collaboration will help eligible veterans and service members learn about opportunities to attend sporting events, concerts, performing arts events and family activities while introducing Vet Tix members in Texas to TVC programs and resources.
“Our goal is to make sure Texas veterans know about the opportunities and resources available to them,” Tom Palladino, Executive Director of the Texas Veterans Commission and former Army colonel said.
“Vet Tix gives veterans and their families opportunities to enjoy experiences together, and this collaboration allows us to introduce even more veterans to those opportunities while connecting Vet Tix members with the no-cost federal and state services and support available through TVC. It's a simple way for two organizations to extend their reach and make a meaningful difference for the people we serve,” Palladino said.
Under the agreement, TVC will introduce eligible veterans and service members to Vet Tix through its statewide outreach and communications, including its website, social media, newsletters and regional events.
Vet Tix will feature TVC among its strategic partners and provide its Texas members with information about the commission’s programs and services. The organizations also plan to explore opportunities to collaborate on veteran-focused events and educational programs across the state.
“Texas is home to more veterans than any other state, and we want to ensure they know Vet Tix exists. Collaborating with the Texas Veterans Commission gives us a direct connection to the people we exist to serve. Every ticket we provide is a small way of saying thank you while creating lasting memories. Together, we can reach more Texas veterans and military families and connect them with opportunities that enrich their lives,” Michael A. Focareto, Vet Tix Founder, CEO and U.S. Navy veteran said.
The organizations said the collaboration is intended to increase awareness of recreational opportunities and veterans services by combining TVC’s statewide outreach network with Vet Tix’s membership and ticket program.
Since 2008, Vet Tix has distributed more than 40 million complimentary event tickets to active-duty military members, veterans and eligible family members of those killed in action.
Eligible Texas veterans, service members and qualifying military family members can register at VetTix.org to request available event tickets. Tickets are provided at no cost, although delivery fees may apply. Availability varies by event and location.
