The Page Turner book store in Mineola will host a book signing Saturday, Aug. 1, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with Hailey Huntington, author of the new fantasy book Magic Like Fire.
The book tells the story of a brother’s quest to save his sister from the same crown that killed their father, using deadly magic if needed. “Neither of them are aware of the true stakes though,” the back cover reads. The book is published by Nightshade Publishing.
Huntington said the book is comparable to The Story Peddler by Lindsay A. Franklin, Splinters of Scarlet by Emily Bain Murphy, or Truth Cursed by Angie Dickinson. Tropes include sibling dynamics, a sassy magical cat, dangerous royalty, and deadly magic.
Huntington is a lifelong lover of adventures, fictional or real. After exploring books growing up, she turned to writing her own. Her speculative fiction blends themes of family and hope with a dash of wit. Beyond the page, Huntington listens to film scores, bakes muffins, and spends time with her family.
The Page Turner is located at Moon’s Harvest Bath and Body Shop in Mineola, 110 S. Johnson St. For more information on Huntington, visit haileyhuntington.com. For more information on The Page Turner, visit their Facebook page or call 903-497-6596.
