Three hurt in crash
Three women were injured in a two-vehicle traffic crash Friday, March 8 just before 4 p.m. on U.S. Hwy. 80 east of Mineola at County Road 2651. Georgianna Steward of Fate was westbound in a 2018 Kia Soul when Belinda Hickman of Mineola attempted to cross the westbound lanes from the crossover in a 2021 Ford Bronco and was struck by Steward. Steward was transported by ambulance to UT Health in Tyler and Hickman was taken by ambulance to Christus Trinity Mother Frances in Tyler. Madison McNair, a passenger in the Bronco, was also hospitalized. Hickman was cited for failure to yield right-of-way. State Trooper Cory Vanderwilt investigated.
