Tonya Raye Roush 1980-2024

Tonya Raye Roush passed away on Sept. 18, 2024 near Trinidad. She was born on Feb. 19, 1980, the oldest of five children, in Charlotte, N.C. to Laurie Salter and Paul Conklin.

Tonya spent a good portion of her life in California, where she joined the US Navy. She later moved with her first two daughters to Texas, which became her home. Tonya had her third daughter and planted roots in Hawkins, where she volunteered at her daughters’ schools in many areas to show her support for her girls. Tonya was a fun, loving and caring friend, sister, daughter, wife and mother, who will be missed dearly. 

Tonya is survived by her three daughters, Christine Hass and husband Jason with their children, River, Madilynn, Brooklynn, Hudson and Koen Hass; Kylee Moore; and Candice Roush. She is also survived by her siblings, sister Amber Saelee and husband Jay with their children, Zack, Katelyn and Jayla; brothers, Josh Conklin and wife Brittany with their daughter Lola, Russell Conklin and Chris Conklin; and her father, Robert Sheffield. She was preceded in death by her mother, Laurie Sheffield. 

Memorial services will be held on Friday, Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. at Summit Heights Fellowship in Hawkins. Family and friends are welcome to stay for the luncheon to follow.
