A steady stream of passengers continue to take advantage of the Amtrak service offered at Mineola. That will likely increase as the eclipse nears in April. Last Thursday morning was a unique train experience for a set of 5-year old twins from Flint. Elijah and Kallyn Himes took their first train trip. They boarded the passenger service in Longview and rode to Mineola with their mom, Carmyn Himes. Their grandfather, Bert Wingrove, drove down from Dangerfield to meet them and make a day of it with the family. It was a special day before the start of school for the twins.
