TxDOT project updates for the week of July 6

TxDOT is planning to conduct the following construction and maintenance work in the district during the week of July 6, 2026. Please remember, work schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions, equipment failure, or other unforeseen issues. Slow down and pay attention in work zones.
This week, crews are scheduled to perform edge repair at various locations throughout the county. Motorists should expect lane closures. Crews are also scheduled to continue ditch maintenance various roads throughout the county. Motorists should expect lane closures and flaggers controlling traffic.
Wood County construction projects updates:
US 69/FM 2493 Overpass
• This week: Crews are scheduled to continue work on the new bridge elements and prep work for bridge deck. Traffic has shifted onto temporary pavement south of existing US 69.
• About the project: This project includes grading, base and asphalt work, drainage, new overpass, curb and gutter, and new signs and striping.
• Limits: From 0.96 miles north of FM 779 to 1.03 miles south of FM 779
• Contractor: Lamar Companies, LLC
• Cost: $37.9 million
• Anticipated Completion Date: August 2026
SH 37 Two-way Left Turn Lane
• This week: Crews are scheduled to continue widening operations and embankment work. The speed limit is reduced to 45 mph throughout the project limits.
• About the project: This project consists of widening the roadway, installation of a continuous two-way left turn lane.
Wood County
• Limits: From CR 2460 to CR 2320
• Contractor: Baker & Company Construction, LLC
• Cost: $4.1 million
• Anticipated Completion Date: August 2026
