TxDOT provides weekly construction updates for Wood County projects beginning this week

TxDOT is planning to conduct construction and maintenance work in the district during the week of June 8, 2026. Work schedules are subject to change due to weather, equipment failure or other unforeseen issues. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention in work zones.
In Wood County, work continues on the US 69 grade-separated interchange project from 0.96 miles north of FM 779 to 1.03 miles south of FM 779. The $37.9 million project is being completed by Lamar Companies, LLC, and is expected to be finished in August 2026. The project includes grading, base, asphalt, drainage, structures, an overpass, signing and striping, along with curb and gutter work along the frontage roads. Crews are currently continuing retaining wall work and preparing for work on the second bridge, which began the week of June 1. Traffic has been shifted to temporary paving south of the existing US 69 alignment, and motorists should expect delays during active work and use caution around heavy equipment.
Also in Wood County, construction continues on the SH 37 two-way left turn lane project from CR 2460 to CR 2320. The $4.1 million project is being completed by Baker & Company Construction, LLC, and is also scheduled for completion in August 2026.
