Quitman Library Connections
Summer Reading 2026 “Unearth a Story” programming, designed for ages Pre-K to 10 years, is happening this month at the Quitman Public Library. It’s not too late to pick up your play card to earn prizes from Sonic-Quitman and free swim passes sponsored by Quitman-Lake Fork Kiwanis.
Entertainment programs are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on the following dates: June 10, “Jurassic Magic!” with Mike Corry, master magician; June 17, “Make Japanese Origami!” Japanese origami artist Jojo Cain will show participants how to fold an array of dinosaurs; June 24, “Dinosaur Movie Time!” with free popcorn, candy and drinks; and June 26, “Jon McDermott Concert and Prize Awards!” Jon wil
ored by the Texas Commission on the Arts.
Tutoring is available each Wednesday at 4 p.m. Whether you are studying for a General Educational Development certificate, or just brushing up on your math skills, it is easier when you have a professional tutor who can guide you through the process. QPL Knitting & Crochet Class regularly meets each Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the library. Students of all ages and skill levels are invited to join this growing group.
