Victor Eugene Dake, 1922-2020

Victor Eugene Dake, 98, of Mineola passed away on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020 in Tyler. He was born on Dec. 1, 1922 in Peterson, Iowa.

He was a retired master sergeant with the US Air Force and a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mr. Dake was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Wallis Dake. He is survived by his son, Jim Wallis and wife Robbie of Mineola; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren

Graveside service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., at 10:15 a.m. with Rev. Jim Pickens conducting.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
