Westberry named conference pitcher of the week
Texas A&M University-Texarkana’s Anna Westberry of Mineola garnered her third Red River Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week honor this year.
This is the ninth set of weekly awards for the 2022 softball season.
Westberry registered two wins and a save in a busy week in the circle.
The sophomore lefty threw two complete games to earn wins over University of Houston-Victoria, 8-1, and Huston-Tillotson University (Texas), 10-2.
Westberry also threw two innings without allowing a baserunner in a 3-2 victory over Louisiana Christian University. She struck out 24 hitters including 11 from HT and five while facing six batters from LCU.
With an ERA of 1.31 for the week, Westberry maintained her conference lead at 1.17 for the season. She is also second in the RRAC in wins (12) and strikeouts (108).
