A celebration of life for Windle Dwayne Gaston, 52, of Alba was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023 at Mineola Church of Christ, with Jeremy Harrell officiating, under the direction of family and friends. Visitation began at 1 p.m. on Thursday.

Mr. Gaston died Jan. 14, 2023 at his residence in Alba, surrounded by loved ones, after a long battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 25, 1970 in Quitman, to Wilson Dwayne and Rhonda Langley Gaston. He grew up in Alba, with his dad, Dwayne and his second mom, Bonnie. He graduated from Miller Grove High School, class of 1989. Windle was employed by Morton Salt in Grand Saline from 1992-2020. In 2021, he began working at Day Motor Sport in Tyler. Windle was a member of Mineola Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his dad; granddads, E.O. Gaston, Sr., and Willis Langley; and step granddad, Kenny Gowin.

Survivors include his wife of six years, Julie Gaston of Alba; mothers, Rhonda Clarke and husband Wesley of Sulphur Springs and Bonnie Sloan and husband J.D. of Grand Saline; son, Corey Gaston of Grand Saline; step-children, Dalton Lee and wife Alex of Tyler, Savannah Lee of Mineola, Lexy Cannady and husband Noah of Lone Oak, and Dylan Lee of Fort Myer, Va.; three grandchildren; brother, Kinne Gaston and wife Amanda of Grand Saline; step-brothers, Jared Sloan and wife Mary and Jason Sloan and wife Amber of Grand Saline; grandmothers, Mildred Gaston and Doris Gowin of Emory; and numerous other relatives and friends.
