Woman dies from traffic crash injuries
A Grand Saline woman died on Feb. 1 of injuries received in a Jan. 13 traffic crash west of Mineola.
Jeanene R. Upton, 88 was traveling westbound in the right lane of U.S. Hwy. 80 about five miles west of Mineola at 5:30 p.m. According to the Dept. of Public Safety report, her visibility was impaired by the setting sun and she ran into the rear of another vehicle.
Upton was transported to UT Health-East Texas in Tyler, where she died.
Damon W. Garner, 23, of Tyler was driving a 2013 Freightliner and was not listed as injured.
