February 13

Deputy Jonah Croney was dispatched to FM 14 and FM 2869 for a vehicle in the roadway. The reporting party stated the driver of the vehicle (who he believed to be intoxicated) had been picked up by a female friend, leaving the Chevrolet pickup in the roadway. A wrecker was requested and after an inventory was completed the truck was removed from the scene.

Deputy Cole Hudson was dispatched to a residence on CR 2258 for an assault after the fact. The 17-year-old victim stated she had been dragged by her hair as well as being struck on the buttocks with a shoe by her 16-year-old boyfriend. According to the victim, the assault came after she threw a shoe and struck him in the buttocks. The victim wished to pursue charges and did wish to have an emergency protective order. This case was forwarded for additional investigation.

Deputy Jaclyn Skinner took a report of a runaway from the guardians/grandparents of a 15-year-old female. The couple had been notified by the school that their granddaughter was absent, despite being seen on school property prior to school starting. It was later learned a male friend had driven the girl to her mother’s home in the Dallas area. Deputy Skinner verified the girl’s location and spoke with her via phone. This case has been referred to juvenile probation due to ongoing problems.

February 15

Deputy Thomas Ritterbach and Sgt. Heather Bailey were dispatched to CR 4530 for an assault report. The victim stated her daughter had become agitated because the victim had allowed her juvenile grandson to watch TV. A confrontation occurred and the suspect reportedly struck her mother around her right eye. Deputies noted the victim did have obvious signs of injury. Summer Renae Sierra, 34, of Winnsboro was arrested and transported to jail. She is charged with assault causing bodily injury, family violence. 

While on routine patrol at Holiday Villages, Deputy Skinner was flagged down by a woman who requested a welfare check on her mother and sister who also live at that location. Skinner spoke with both women who admitted they had argued and it turned physical. The women gave differing stories of the altercation; both declined medical attention, and neither woman wished to pursue charges. Both were issued a citation for Class C assault, family violence. The younger woman left the premises voluntarily. 

February 16

Just before 3 a.m., Deputies David Tipps and Hudson responded to a residence on FM 14 for a disturbance. An elderly woman had been assaulted by her adult daughter. Deputies found broken items, including a flat screen TV, which had been destroyed by the younger woman during the melee. The victim was transported for medical treatment of her injuries. Jill Lynn Koonce, 48, of Hawkins was arrested at the scene. She is charged with assault causing bodily injury, family violence. 

Deputy John Cooper and Sgt. David Brown responded to a disturbance on FM 312. A man and his adult son had been in a verbal altercation that turned physical. After speaking with both parties, deputies issued a citation for Class C assault by contact to the father. The son agreed to relocate to his grandparents’ next door so he and his father could be separated.  

Deputy Andrew Rapp was dispatched to a residence on FM 17 for an assault. A woman stated her common law husband had thrown her on the bed and punched her in the arm when she refused to let him use her phone. The man had since left the residence. The woman initially denied the man had ever assaulted her before, but later admitted it happens about every two years. The woman was insistent that all was fine and if the man showed back up he would not be a problem. Deputy Rapp noted no visible marks of violence. This case was forwarded to investigations. 

February 17

Sgt. Austin Milbourn responded to a structure fire on CR 2260 and arrived to find an RV fully engulfed in flames. A female advised that the propane heater was the cause of the fire. She believed that one of her dogs had moved some material near the heater and caused the fire. All occupants of the RV, including the dogs, got out safely. Photographs were taken at the scene and will be forwarded to the fire marshal. 

Sgt. Bailey took a report via telephone of a criminal trespass after the fact. The reporting party stated a woman, against who she has an active criminal trespass warning, had been onto her property the previous day. The woman also stated she had been home at the time of the incident but was unaware of it at the time. Cameras on the property captured the event. This case was forwarded to investigators.

February 18

Sgt. Austin Milbourn responded to a vehicle fire on SH 154. Prior to Milbourn’s arrival, the fire had been extinguished with snow. Photographs were taken and will be forwarded to the fire marshal.
